Day 1. Fly to Rio de Janeiro
Fly from London to Sao Paulo on the overnight flight
Day 2. Transfer to Buzios
Met on arrival and transfer to Buzios and the Casa Brancas hotel, situated approximately 3 hours outside Rio. The peninsular has some 20 beaches within easy reach of your pousada, making it an ideal location to relax and unwind. 4 nights in a deluxe room with an ocean view on a b&b basis.
Days 3-5. In Buzios
4 days free for personal exploration, where you can explore the surrounding beaches and small fishing villages along the coast, or simply spoil yourself at the spa within the hotel.
Day 6. Transfer to Rio
Met and transferred to Rio de Janeiro and the Ipanema Plaza hotel for 3 nights in a room with an ocean view on a b&b basis.
Days7-8. In Rio
2 days free for personal exploration. We would suggest visiting Corcovado Mountain, which has the statue of Christ the Redeemer perched on the top, followed by a visit to the famous Sugarloaf mountain to watch the sun set over Rio the mountain is only accessible by cable car.
Day 9. Fly to the Pantanal
Met and transfer to the airport for your flight to Campo Grande. Met on arrival and transfer to the Caiman lodge for 5N/4D on a full board basis.
Days 10-12. In the Pantanal
This is the best time to visit the lodge as you are in the middle of the seasons. Water is beginning to disperse south leaving pools of water with trapped fish , which in turn attracts large numbers of migratory birds as well the larger animals. 3 full days of activities supplied by the lodge, including horse riding, walks and canoe rides.
Day 13. Fly to Manaus
Met and transfer to the airport for your flight to Manaus. Met on arrival and transferred to the tropical Hotel for the night on a b&b basis.
Day 14. In the Amazon
The morning is free for personal exploration. Met and transferred to the Anavilhanas lodge located 100 KM from Manaus. The lodge is situated in the Anavilhanas ecological reserve which contains about 400 islands extending for over 90 km and encompasses a wide variety of ecosystems. Transfer is by land and speedboat, taking approximately 3 hours. Your 4 night package staying in a room with a jungle view includes all excursions and is on a full board basis.
Days 15-17. In the Amazon
Over the next three days here you will do a variety of jungle walks, caiman spotting at night, piranha fishing and visit a local Amazon settlement.
Day 18. Fly to Iguazu
Met and transferred back to Manaus where you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguazu falls. Met on arrival and transfer to the Das Cataratas Hotel for 2 nights on a b&b basis.
Day 19. At Iguazu
Met and transferred to the Argentinean side of the falls where there are walks at varying levels including a train ride to the devils throat. In the afternoon you return to the Brazilian side for your boat safari, taking a speedboat ride up the Iguazu River for views of the falls from below, followed by an optional helicopter ride over the falls for views from above – payable locally.
Day 20. Fly London
Morning can be spent walking around the Brazilian falls at your leisure. Met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Sao Paulo, where you will connect with your return international overnight flight to London arriving on following day.
As a guideline the itinerary outlined above would cost approximately £2,860 per person based on two people travelling and includes all activities stated on a private basis, accommodation and taxes, entrance fees, private transfers and meals where mentioned.
In addition the cost of the international and internal flights in Brazil will be approximately £1,200 per person.
